Hybrid Cooling Circuit
The operation of hybrid cooling towers is based on the operation of open and closed cooling towers. An air/water battery is added on top of the cooling tower. This battery will allow, depending on the weather and the cooling capacity to be evacuated, to skip the evaporation (partially) and to use only (partially) the battery. This can cause considerable water savings and a strong reduction of the visible vapor plume.
Hybrid stands for the combination within 1 appliance of dry (only convection) and wet cooling (convection and evaporation). Different combinations and versions are possible, each with their own specific characteristics and advantages.
All hybrid (open) circuit cooling towers operate in the same way. The operation of hybrid (closed) circuit cooling towers depends on the type.
